Roller Disco Costume Ideas

by Stacey on April 16, 2012

Roller Skating boys and girls RollerDisco is back on 26 May at the Roundhouse. This is your chance to hit the floor, show your roller skating skillz, or lack thereof while wearing a radical sexy outfit.

There’s something so irresistibly cute and about the typical “roller girl’ look. Since Roller Skating hit its high point in the 1970’s and 1980’s, it’s fashions from these eras that we usually associated the four wheeled craze with.

I’ve picked a few favourites to help assemble the perfect “RollerGirl” Look.

For a 70s flashback

The Heather Graham, Boogie Nights look is a favourite and is easy to throw together. Tiny shorts, high socks and a simple top or  leotard . You can’t go wrong.

If you’re having trouble letting go of Disco, or rediscovering it, the Saturday night fever and sold gold look might be more your style. Think Jumpsuits, flares, sequins and  imagine yourself cutting some laps on the Roller Disco rink.

.

If you can’t seem to get this 70s look just right, have no fear as there’s also the highly recognisable 80s counterpart option.

80s Flash Back

Not too far off from the 70?s boogie nights costume, this one can also feature some cute shorts, add some leg warmer and the signature accessories. Colourful tights or leggings can add to this, oh and don’t forget to show off your best attempt at 80s Big Hair.

What about make-up!? Don’t you worry your little skates off, we have our very own make-up Artist, Kim the White Lion on the case. Kim will bring you some wearable looks soon. Keep a look out on our page for more details.

In the meantime check out Kims blog . http://whitelioncosmetica.tumblr.com

You mission now, get creative, get involved, prizes for the best dressed! We will have a media wall for you to get some snaps to show your friends that miss out.

Tickets selling fast, grab them from this before its to late.
